Mike Tomlin’s reputation took a hit in the past few seasons due to lack of playoffs success with Pittsburgh Steelers but he’s got more hopes now for football glory with the acquisition of Aaron Rodgers who is now among his top defenders against criticism.

A-Rod joined the team last June although the rumors of him joining Tomlin has been going around since February. Rodgers earlier said that it was the 2008 Coach of the Year who made him sign with the AFC team.
Tomlin’s reputation should not be questioned according to the four-time MVP despite their lack of postseason success (4 wildcard round exits in the last five).
“Mike T is the man. Any hate, disrespect and the ilk is complete and utter bullshit,” Rodgers said during a guesting on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday.

“Mike T is the man. From Day 1 that we talked on the phone in the offseason, I was never talking to a head coach. I was talking to a friend. I respected the hell out of that.”
Aaron Rodgers enjoys front seat to Mike Tomlin’s greatness
Tomlin is one of the longest-tenured coaches in one team in the league and he earned that. He has been with the Steelers since 2007. He haven’t seen his team finish below .500 since taking over.
Rodger is aware of the 53-year-old coach’s greatness, going 1-2 against him dating back to his time with the Green Bay Packers.
Despite that, he still falls in awe of Tomlin’s command and influence.

“The way that he leads the room, the way that he talks in the team meeting, the way he is in practice,” Rodgers said.
“The surprise has been, just, what a great dude he is, what a great leader he is, on top of what I already expected, which was already high based on what I thought from afar, but being able to see it in person is incredible.”
