Save for a frenetic fourth-quarter comeback, the Green Bay Packers weren’t all that competitive in Sunday’s 27-25 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
While quarterback Jordan Love has been a catalyst for Green Bay’s strong final month of the season, entering Week 17 having won five of six, the second-year starter’s play in arguably the Packers’ biggest game of the season left much to be desired.
Love finished Sunday’s loss having completed 19-of-30 passing attempts for just 185 yards and one touchdown. Worse yet, 121 of those passing yards came in the fourth quarter. Moreover, the Packers didn’t have a play from scrimmage of more than 20 yards until Love hit tight end Tucker Kraft for a 35-yard gain in the second half.
Packers Must Get Stronger Quarterback Play from Jordan Love
Green Bay is going to need more from Love.
It’s one thing for the Packers to dominate the likes of the Chicago Bears, the Tennessee Titans, this year’s hapless San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.
However, the Packers are going to need much more from Love and the offense if Green Bay is going to mount any sort of serious charge at a championship that will feature showdowns against some combination of the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, and Minnesota Vikings whom the Packers are 0-5 against this season.
