The Green Bay Packers could be getting one of their key defensive standouts back on the field just in time for Sunday’s NFC Wild Card Playoff clash against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Packers linebacker Quay Walker has been sidelined for the final three games of the regular season, after suffering an ankle injury during Green Bay’s blowout victory in Seattle over the Seahawks back in Week 16.
However, Walker returned to practice on Wednesday, lending optimism that he’ll be able to return Sunday in Philadelphia
Before getting injured, Walker was in the midst of one of the more consistently dominant stretches of his career and certainly of this season. Walker finished the regular season with 102 tackles and 2.5 sacks while appearing in just 13 games.
Green Bay’s defense could use a boost from Walker’s explosiveness in the front seven, especially given that Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts returned to practice forcing the Packers to respect his mobility as well as running back Saquon Barkley’s explosiveness.
