Toyatathon isn’t over yet but Jordan Love’s brilliance tied to the car brand promo came to an end already after he underperformed in Green Bay Packers’ loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
The team from Wisconsin lost by just two points, 25-27, on a night when he only completed 19 of 30 passes for 185 yards. He, in fact, only had 64 yards through the first three quarters.
It was a quiet night for Love but the star quarterback believes the result should not take away anything from their capability.
He thinks they can keep up with the best of the best and all they need to be better at is execution.
“It obviously ended up being a close game, but it’s hard when you put yourself in a hole and are down early and just kind of shooting yourself in the foot. So, there’s so much stuff to clean up and get better at, but I think we’re still a really good team,” he said post game.
Jordan Love owns up to bad game
Love played tremendously in their last five games before the Vikings to the point that a “carspiracy” was created by a fan.
As for Minnesota, he knows he had a huge role for their slow start.
“I think it comes down to we did not make enough plays,” Love said. “Had a turnover early and we just didn’t make plays. I did not play well enough, which led to us not being able to put up points and got in a hole early.”
He may be on to something here as the result may have been affected by a controversial call that led to 3 points for Vikings.
The play involved linebacker Edgerrin Cooper who was called for offside in the 2nd quarter.
Opponents’ Will Reichard had to redo his field goal attempt and this time, he converted it to stretch their lead to 13-3 before the halftime whistle.
