Josh Jacobs has been powering Green Bay Packers’ run game in the last three outings and not even his coaches order to be careful can slow him down.
Reports have it that Jacobs has been told to limit his participation in team practices. This is for him to remain fresh when the crucial stretch comes.
“He does a great job communicating with us where he’s at… I trust him in terms of, if he needs more, that he’ll let us know and if he needs less, he’ll also let us know. But we are mindful of just how many reps he’s getting throughout the course of the week,” coach Matt LaFleur said on Tuesday.
How did Jacobs take such order? Not positively.
The sixth-year man, who joined the team this season for a four-year $48 million contract, insisted on being there even if it is just practice.
“They be getting on me because they be wanting me to take less reps… but I think it’s important for the guys to see me work. I think it’s important to get the reps. So, I practice,” he said.
The Packers can only accept the situation. They need a win and Jacobs always deliver.
The 5’10 running back made 5 touchdowns in their last three and is racking up 24 touches per game.
Josh Jacobs is ready for Detroit Lions
Jacobs is currently on a roll. He ran 15-yard against the Miami Dolphins and broke to double-digit tackles for the second straight game.
He is not backing down on any challenge. Not even to the Detroit Lions known for their physicality. The tow will meet for a rematch on Week 14 and the buildup to the game is filled with trashtalking and shading.
The Packers will visit Lions on Friday and Jacobs think the game is going to be a fun one with two teams playing at their best this season so far.
They’ve been playing really good ball. We feel like we’ve been playing good ball, too. They’re the top of the division, and that’s what we’re hunting, so it’s gonna be fun. I love these type of games. I feel like they bring out the best in me. I feel like I’m a competitor, so whenever I get a chance to prove to myself or prove my team right, something that I always look forward to doing.
