The Green Bay Packers suffered a double, triple whammy on Sunday as they not only lost to the Chicago Bears in their last regular season assignment but also have status of some of the key players, particularly Jordan Love, in doubt for the playoffs.
Love reportedly hit his funny bone in the 2nd quarter of the game with the Bears leading, 14-3. He had to leave the game although there was still a chance he could return as he was seen on the sidelines throwing the ball.
Coach Matt LaFleur said later in the game that his starting quarterback had the clearance to return but he personally decided against it as a precaution. He decided to stick with substitute Mark Willis.
The coach said Love’s injury scare will not be an issue when they face the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs.
Love himself also provided assurance to fans.
“They said it should [go away],” Love said when asked about the numbness of his arm.
“They did. I’m not sure when, but it’s feeling better.”
Jordan Love is in the safe zone, Christian Watson isn’t
The game really squeezed everything out of the Packers.
Another casualty in the game is wide receiver Christian Watson who did not show up in the third quarter as he had to be carted to the locker room.
“#Packers coach Matt LaFleur tells reporters that QB Jordan Love (right elbow) was held out as a precaution. He’ll be good to go against the #Eagles. He’s much more unsure about Christian Watson (knee),” wrote Ian Rapoport.

LaFleur did not plan to play his starters big minutes in the game but his hands were forced, especially on Watson, due to injury to Romeo Dubs.
