The Packers are going to need to change the narrative, and find a way to beat top teams if Green Bay has any chance of advancing in the NFL Playoffs.
Whether the Packers enter the postseason as the greatest No. 7 seed in the modern playoff era or get some help after beating the Chicago Bears to secure the No. 6 spot and avoid a trip to Philadelphia and rematch against the Eagles will be determined Sunday afternoon.
But, as NFL.com points out, Green Bay’s chances of making any sort of run in the postseason comes down to the play of one player.
“What version of Jordan Love will we get in the playoffs?” Eric Edholm writes for NFL.com. “That will be the biggest factor in determining whether the Pack can make noise or not.”
Love is certainly going to need to be better— and more consistent throughout the game than he was against the Vikings. Particularly, Love and head coach Matt LaFleur are going to need to figure out a way to neutralize the impact of exotic blitz packages such as the ones Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores threw at Love all game long on Sunday.
Last season in Dallas, Love proved he is capable of rising to the moment, but whether the Packers can replicate and surpass that success is an open question.
