The Philadelphia Eagles are leaving no stone unturned in terms of adding quality depth, ahead of Sunday afternoon’s NFC Wild Card playoff showdown against the Packers at Lincoln Financial Field.
As the playoffs loom larger by the day, the Eagles signed former Minnesota Vikings first-round draft choice, safety Lewis Cine off the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad.
Cine, originally chosen by the Vikings with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the former University of Georgia standout has appeared in seven NFL games.
Now the fourth safety on the Eagles’ roster, Cine was released by the Buffalo Bills coming out of training camp this summer.
Even if Cine doesn’t see the field against the Packers — or at all during these playoffs, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has never shied away from evaluating former top picks or highly touted veterans. Cine could wind up a candidate for a futures/reserve contract in Philadelphia this offseason, and could also provide some insight on some of the Packers’ receivers as well as quarterback Jordan Love, gleaned from his season in Minnesota.
