Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to return to practice Wednesday, for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 16 against the Washington Commanders, ahead of Sunday’s NFC Wild Card showdown against the Green Bay Packers.
Hurts’ return, while expected, makes things significantly more daunting for Jeff Hafley and a Packers’ defense looking to contain one of the more prolific offenses in the NFL.
Packers’ Defense Must Shut Down One of The NFL’s Top Quarterbacks
Back in the 2024 NFL regular season opener in Brazil, Hurts passed for 278 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 34-29 Eagles victory. Hurts enters these playoffs aiming to guide the Eagles to a second Super Bowl appearance in the past two seasons, but will first need to get through the Packers’ defense on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Packers boast the NFL’s No. 13 ranked passing defense, allowing an average of 215.2 yards per game.
Hurts capped the regular season completing 68.7 percent of his passes for 2,903 yards with 18 touchdowns to five interceptions while posting a career-high 103.7 passer rating.
