The 32-year-old wide receiver is teaming up with Allen Lazard and Aaron Rodgers in New York this season. Rodgers and Lazard had injury scares during the Jets OTAs this spring.
Cobb had surgery on his ankle in March. During OTAs this spring, Cobb was present but missed some of the Jets’ practices. It was immediately unclear if the ankle rehab was the cause of Cobb being placed on the PUP list.
Cobb will have a few more weeks still have several weeks to get healthy before the regular season starts in September. However, Cobb will miss reps with his new teammates while on the PUP list. Fortunately for Cobb, he’s familiar with former Packers members Rodgers and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
