The Green Bay Packers were missing two key defenders, Rashan Gary, and Eric Stokes, due to injury during their mandatory minicamp this spring. Fans reacted to the update on Gary Tuesday.
Head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst spoke to the media Tuesday morning ahead of the Packers’ first practice of training camp on Wednesday. The Packers gave optimistic news on Stokes. Stokes, who said he was happy just to be walking this spring, could join the Packers at practice in a few weeks.

The Packers need Stokes’ teammate, Gary, healthy this season. Gary will be instrumental in giving the Packers a strong pass rush this fall. He’s recovering from an ACL injury from last season.
According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, the Packers think Gary should be back to practice within at least the next three weeks–though they are hoping it will be sooner.
Brian Gutekunst on Rashan Gary’s ACL rehab: “He’s ready to go. He wants to keep pushing and he will. But at the same time, we’ll start him off in these next 2-3 weeks and kind of see where he’s at. I wouldn’t put anything past him because he’s a different kind of guy.”

That timeline is good news for the Packers. He’d be back in time for their Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears.
