Starting on Friday, the Milwaukee Brewers‘ final series of the 2024 MLB season will be at home for a three-game set against the New York Mets. Milwaukee will be the three seed in the National League playoffs and they may decide to rest players before the playoffs begin next week.
The Mets played one game against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday and lost. On Wednesday, it was announced that the Braves and Mets games for Wednesday and Thursday were postponed because of the impacts of Hurricane Helene. If those games are needed, there will be a doubleheader on Monday.
New York Mets Fans React To Atlanta Braves Postponment Ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers Series
There is no doubt that the Mets fanbase is upset about how the Braves and the MLB handled this situation. A lot of people were calling out Rob Manfred on Twitter. Also many believed that they could have handled this situation better by playing at a neutral site knowing they knew about this weather event days in advance.
Here is what Mets fans had to say on Twitter about it:
Rob Manfred saw no reason to be proactive from this storm!! 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/N2OrqQ7l1X

This Mets/Braves postponement is quite unfortunate. Perhaps more so for the Mets.
The Mets now have to travel to Milwaukee. Play 3 games there. Then travel back to Atlanta for the 2 biggest games of the year.

MLB moves slowly on matters that require fast, decisive action.
Hurricane path known 4-5 days ago. Mets and Braves were off Monday. Having them start series Monday would’ve reduced it to 1 game to make up next Monday. And moving today’s game to noon might’ve enabled whole series.— David O’Brien (@DOBrienATL) September 25, 2024
I truly hope the Mets get the last laugh here. Fuck the Braves and fuck MLB for not stepping in #lgm pic.twitter.com/23zbuSUWF8

If the Diamondbacks are eliminated over the weekend and the Mets and Braves have not yet settled seeding it will be at the Commissioners discretion whether to play Monday for seeding purposes

There were so many interesting reactions to the postponement of this series for now. The Arizona Diamondbacks are also in the mix for a wild card spot in the National League.
Wild Card Series Set To Begin On Tuesday
On Tuesday, the American League and the National League Wild Card Series will begin. The Milwaukee Brewers will either face the Arizona Diamondbacks, the New York Mets, or the Atlanta Braves in the Wild Card Round in the National League.
Milwaukee may not know until Monday night who they are playing and it may put them at a disadvantage. The MLB botched the entire situation and the fans have every right to clown MLB commissioner Rob Manfred.
