The Wisconsin Badgers are 5-6 this season after losing to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday. Wisconsin is in danger of missing a bowl game this season in Luke Fickell’s second season as head coach.
One of the biggest issues with the Badgers this season has been quarterback play. One of the top quarterbacks they are looking at in the class of 2025 is Carter Smith.
Carter Smith Commits To the Wisconsin Badgers After De-committing From the Michigan Wolverines
On Sunday, it was announced that Carter Smith will be playing for the Wisconsin Badgers next season after deciding to de-commit from the Michigan Wolverines earlier in the year. Smith is a 6’3″, 185 lbs quarterback from Fort Myers, Florida.
There were some other schools that he was considering after he decided to de-commit from Michigan. This is a huge win for the Wisconsin Badgers program and with the way how Braedyn Locke has played this season, there is a chance that Carter Smith could start as a freshman next season for Wisconsin.

Wisconsin definitely fixed a major hole that has been plaguing them last couple of season with that commitment.

It is probably true that Smith could be the starting quarterback for the Badgers right now. Other than that big news, they will face the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the final week of the 2024 college football season. Hopefully, Smith brings some spotlight into the Badgers offense for years to come.
