The NBA trade deadline will be on Thursday, but there have been some crazy trades already. Luka Doncic being traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers shocked the NBA world and it has changed the landscape across the league.
One player who has been involved in these crazy trade rumors has been Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. It would be a major shock if he was traded by Thursday. Milwaukee has a 26-22 record this season in the NBA. A lot of Bucks fans would not be thrilled at general manager Jon Horst.
Golden State Warriors Are a Dream Target For Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Golden State Warriors are 25-24 this year and are just floating around .500 in the Western Conference. Golden State wants to try and make one final push in the Steph Curry era. The Warriors were off to a hot start this season and then Golden State cooled off.
According to clutchpoints.com writer Brett Siegel, a potential dream target for the Warriors is the Bucks superstar. Siegel said:
“Outside of (Kevin) Durant and (LeBron) James, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the other Tier 1 superstar that the Warriors view as a dream trade target, sources said. It is highly unlikely that the Bucks would part ways with Giannis right now, especially given Golden State’s lack of enticing assets.”
The most realistic target for the Warriors might be Kevin Durant over Lebron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo. James might retire from the NBA within the next two years and Durant and Antetokounmpo have no plans to retire from the NBA anytime soon. Milwaukee wants to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard instead of starting over.
Andrew Wiggins Only Player Who Makes Sense To Trade For
If Golden State wants to shake things up, the only thing that makes sense for the Milwaukee Bucks is to swap Andrew Wiggins for Khris Middleton, but the Warriors may not go for that. If for some reason the Golden State Warriors went for it, Wiggins would be an upgrade.
This season, Andrew Wiggins is averaging 17.6 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 2.4 APG, and shooting 44.4% from the field. He is also 29 years old. The Bucks trading away Giannis Antetokounmpo to any team at this point would be a major shock. There will be some shakeups for Milwaukee by Thursday potentially, but it will not involve the superstar.
