It is probably something no Milwaukee Bucks or Miami Heat fan ever thought of but Jimmy Butler wearing green and white jersey is being discussed right now.
NBA reporter John Gambadoro reported that the Bucks have an interest on the Miami Heat star who requested a trade last week after his relationship with the organization collapsed and Butler getting suspended for seven days.
Butler has been at the center of the hottest trade rumors since early December but they only gained grounds when the conflict between him and the Heat surfaced last week.
It would be a major plot twist amongst Bucks and non-Bucks fans as Butler is long-time tormentor of the Wisconsin team.
He and his heat played the Bucks in three playoffs series since 2020 and won two of them. Nothing led to an NBA title though.
Bucks got the better of the Heat in 2021 and then went on to win their NBA championship.
How can the Milwaukee Bucks get Jimmy Butler?
For starters, Bucks general manager Jon Horst hasn’t said anything about their rumored interest on Butler. Right now, they are all rumors.
That does not stop people from creating scenarios to make this blockbuster trade happen.
Bucks will have to sacrifice a lot to make this happen.
NBA insider Brett Siegel of Clutch points said the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led team will have to release their long-time players to get the services of the six-time All-Star.
“Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis, and Pat Connaughton gets you to $53.6M in total. The magic number for Butler and MIL would be $55.3M to dip below the second apron,” he wrote on X.
“Throw in MarJon Beauchamp as an outgoing salary and you got yourself a scenario where Butler to MIL can happen.”
The Bucks need to improve. That is obvious. The question now is if they are ready to move past history with Middleton and the other players.
