The Green Bay Packers will carry an undrafted rookie free agent onto the initial 53-man roster for the 21st consecutive season.
After former Georgia defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse made the roster, the Packers’ streak of continuing to invest in keeping and developing one of their undrafted rookies continues.
Why Nazir Stackhouse Stood Out For Packers

Stackhouse has been an emerging star for the Packers throughout training camp.
The 6-foot-4 and 327-pound defensive tackle finished the preseason with four total tackles, one pass breakup, and half a tackle for loss, on top of flashing throughout training camp.
“He’s really stout in the middle at that nose position. And he can play a shade, he can play on the guard, he can play head-up on the center, so he gives us some flexibility in how we want to play,” Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley recently told reporters. “He’s got really strong hands, he can get off blocks, he can hold up on double-teams.
“He gives us a big body on the inside, right? And we’ve got to keep getting him better now.”
With his place on the roster secured, at least for now, Stackhouse now has the opportunity to earn quality snaps in defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington’s rotation alongside the likes of Warren Brinson, Karl Brooks, Kenny Clark, and Devonte Wyatt.
