A top bookmaker released the 2025-26 NBA season MVP odds and Giannis Antetokounmpo placed fourth with +1000. Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, who already got three MVPs, has the best odds followed by reigning MVP and 2025 champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of OKC. Los Angeles Lakers’ Luka Doncic is in third place.

Is fourth place low? Jeff Teague thinks people might be surprised. He thinks the Greek Freak could win the top individual award next year.
The former Bucks guard, who was part of the 2021-title winning team, made the proclamation on the Club 520 Podcast while they were discussing the body transformation of Doncic.
“I got Giannis winning MVP. S*** watch! This [is] about to be Giannis’ best year,” he said.
“Nobody on his team, he [is] about to carry so crazy. He might average 34, 13 and 8. This boy [is] about to run point guard basically. His stats [are] about to be crazy.”

He also made a guarantee that Antetokounmpo will average at least 30 points, something he has done in the last three years.
His co-hosts, however, believe that it can only happen if they win at least 50 games, something critics are not to sold about.
Giannis Antetokounmpo as Milwaukee Bucks point guard
Bucks still don’t have a legit starting point guard after they released Damian Lillard but that task will partly go to the Greek Freak.
Antetokounmpo was their second best playmaker last season in terms of assist averages and general manager Jon Horst believe they can use this underrated facet of his game this season. He even thinks that he is becoming a ‘real point guard’ now.

“He just continues to grow at such a high rate in generating 3-point shots for his teammates,” he told Eric Nehm in an exclusive interview with The Athletic.
“It’s elite. His decision-making is elite. His turnover game is reducing. He truly is becoming a real point guard — or a real point forward, like Doc calls it.”
