The Milwaukee Bucks have been active in trade talks in the past few days because they’re seeking ways to improve their roster, and Toronto Raptors swingman Bruce Brown has been floated as one of the top trade targets.
Brown is cheaper unlike Chicago Bulls’ Zach LaVine and Phoenix Suns’ Bradley Beal, and his versatility should provide more balance in the Milwaukee Bucks’ rotation.
“Bruce Brown might not have the star power of the others, but his championship pedigree and versatility make him a high-value target,” wrote Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World.
“Brown is the kind of two-way wing every contender craves, when he is healthy of course. Adding Brown to Milwaukee’s rotation (possibly at Khris Middleton’s expense) could unlock a more balanced lineup,” he concluded.
How does Bruce Brown fit in with the Milwaukee Bucks?
As things stand, the Milwaukee Bucks rely heavily on Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard to create plays, with Khris Middleton as the third option coming off the bench. Middleton has been inconsistent since his return from an offseason ankle surgery and is making roughly $31.7 million this season.
Bruce Brown is earning $23 million this season but is on an expiring contract. However, if the Milwaukee Bucks go after him, the team would have to package multiple players in mid-level salaries to pull off a trade.
Brown has played 13 regular season games for the Toronto Raptors, averaging 9.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game on 46.0 percent shooting from the field this season.
