The Milwaukee Bucks are in the middle of a turnaround following their NBA Cup triumph in Las Vegas last Tuesday. Despite winning the first trophy of the 2024-25 campaign, Milwaukee insists they’re far from done, as they’re also gunning for the Larry O’Brien trophy next June.
After a horrific 2-8 start, rumors were swirling around Giannis Antetokounmpo’s uncertain future with the team. Instead, the narrative has shifted to how the Milwaukee Bucks surround Antetokounmpo with enough talent to compete for the championship.
Renowned NBA insider Jake Fischer recently touched upon the Milwaukee Bucks’ plans, such as improving their frontcourt depth.
“Milwaukee has made calls to explore ways to add more of a lob threat to complement Brook Lopez, according to league sources, while the Bucks’ incumbent center has generated no shortage of trade interest since last summer,” Fischer wrote on Marc Stein’s substack.
Who are the Milwaukee Bucks’ options?
According to Fischer’s report, the Milwaukee Bucks are not the only team keen on improving their frontcourt depth, as the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, and the Los Angeles Clippers want to do the same thing.
Robert Williams III, Walker Kessler, Day’Ron Sharpe, Clint Capela, Chris Boucher, and Jonas Valanciunas were some of the named trade options.
Because the Milwaukee Bucks are facing financial constraints, they may have to look at Day’Ron Sharpe and Walker Kessler since they are still on their rookie contracts with the Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz, respectively.
