The Milwaukee Bucks lost Pat Connaughton in the second quarter of Tuesday’s win against the Miami Heat. The veteran scored on a wild no-look lay-up but ended up landing awkwardly on his right ankle.
Connaughton immediately grabbed his foot as soon as he landed, and it looked like he was in considerable pain. The 6-foot-5 guard/forward left the game to have himself checked in the locker room and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
Milwaukee Bucks Wing Pat Connaughton’s Status for Bulls Game
The Bucks are back in action on Thursday against Central Division rivals, the Chicago Bulls. Unfortunately for them, they will be down another wing player now that the injury report for that upcoming matchup has been released.
Connaughton will not be available for Thursday’s game after being diagnosed with a right ankle sprain. The extent of the injury is currently unclear, but it will be significant enough to force him out of at least one game.
This is a tough blow for the Bucks, who are already without Jae Crowder for an extended period. Connaughton sitting out should, however, provide more playing time for MarJon Beauchamp and rookie Andre Jackson Jr.
Both players have been making a bit of noise this season, and if Connaughton ends up getting sidelined for an extended period, then these young studs could see a considerable uptick in their production in the interim.
