The Milwaukee Bucks are back to winning ways by tripping the visiting Denver Nuggets, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo who almost recorded a 20-20.
Antetokounmpo played well but it must be noted that he is still playing with minutes restriction.
The Bucks, who lost by one possession to the Houston Rockets 48 hours before, saw six players in the win over the Western Conference contenders.
Antetokounmpo led the way with an almost triple double of 28-19-7. Brook Lope, who got hot early in the first half, poured in 22 points while Damian Lillard had 19 on five out of nine shooting.
Kyle Kuzma continues to show he is a great pick up as he displayed his multi-faceted type of game with 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two blocks.
Taurean Prince had ten points while Gary Trent Jr. remains deadly with his three-point shooting as he went three out four from beyond the arch en route to a 15-point game.
The Nuggets were led by three-time MVP Nikola Jokic as usual as he posted a triple double of 32-14-10.
Interestingly, coach Michael Malone’s squad has more players that scored in double digits (seven). They also had more rebounds.
Suspect is the three point shooting where the Nuggets shot terribly – 9/34 or 26.5 percent whereas the Bucks went 14-34 or 41.2 percent.
Giannis Antetokounmpo reacts to big win over Nuggets
The Nuggets are among, if not the hottest in the league coming into the game with their 10-1 record coming into the game.
It is a regular season match but for Antetokounmpo, they can use this game to find the consistency they need.
“We played good basketball. We gotta keep building good habits because now it’s go time,” Antetokounmpo said during courtside interview with Taylor Rooks.
When asked how important the game was in setting tone for the remaining games for the rest of the regular season, Antetokounmpo suggested that he’s taking it one game at a time.
“I don’t really care. All I care about is the game. I care about building good habits. I care about whenever we’re on the floor. We try to be sharp. We follow the game plan as well as we can and we out here competing.
“As long as we’re locked in, good things will happen.”
