Myles Turner decided to end his 10-year tenure with the Indiana Pacers by starting a new chapter in his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Fear the Deer fans are very receptive about his signing as they, too, are moving on to a new chapter sans former main big man Brook Lopez. They believe they got a young, quality center that can be paired with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
He said he signed with the Bucks because he wants to remain in a competitive environment. However, to one analyst, he is cautioning him that he might not get what he want and on a personal level, he might not be as productive like the way he was for the Pacers.
The issue? He won’t have a Tyrese Haliburton to pass the ball to him or set him up.
Justin Termine of Sirius X NBA and Setting the Pace podcast thinks Turner will miss his time with the Pacers immediately because of this. He even fears that Turner’s career might go the same path as Victor Oladipo who was a two-time All-Star with them from 2017 to 2021 but is now no longer in the league after he was traded to the Houston Rockets.

“I think Victor Oladipo is the perfect example of someone who regrets that decision (to leave the Pacers), and it certainly could happen with Myles Turner because even if Giannis is healthy this year and stays, that team isn’t winning a first-round series in my estimation,” Termine said.
Myles Turner-Giannis Antetokounmpo tandem
What Termine is forgetting here is that Antetokounmpo is a good playmaker, too, and that is what the team is going to exploit more this season.
Rivers said they will customize their offense to make the Greek Freak play point forward and maximize the skills of Turner who signed a four-year, $108.9 million deal with them.
Antetokounmpo has had success with centers. Lopez became a lethal three point shooter playing alongside him.

Bobby Portis came close to winning the Sixth Man of the Year multiple times while wearing Bucks uniform. Two players also became All-Stars as Antetokounmpo’s court partner – Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday.
It is still too early to judge how Turner’s career will turn out but many believe that the upside is there. Some analyst also think he might win Defensive Player of the Year at last with Giannis.
