One of the most shocking developments in the NBA this offseason was the Milwaukee Bucks deciding to waive and stretch injured nine-time All-Star point guard Damian Lillard, ending his two-year stint with the team. With the money that they saved by stretching out his salary cap hit over the next five seasons, the Bucks were able to sign center Myles Turner in free agency, as well as other free agents as they attempt to build a contending team around Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Lillard, of course, is not going to play at all during the 2025-26 NBA season after tearing his Achilles in the Bucks’ playoff series loss to the Indiana Pacers. Despite this, he signed a three-year contract to return to the Portland Trailblazers, the team with whom he started his career and made a name for himself as one of the best players in the league. It is also where his children live.
Former Milwaukee Bucks Point Guard Jrue Holiday Was Traded to the Portland Trailblazers Too

Milwaukee, of course, traded NBA Championship-winning point guard Jrue Holiday to Portland in order to to acquire Lillard. The Trailblazers then shipped him off to the Boston Celtics, with whom Holiday won another title.
But with Jayson Tatum injured with a torn Achilles himself, the Celtics decided to completely re-tool their roster this offseason, and that meant getting rid of Holiday.
Once again, he was sent to the Trailblazers where he will, eventually, form an intriguing point guard duo with Lillard once the nine-time All-Star is healthy.
But in the meanwhile, and with Holiday garnering trade interest from other teams, another former Bucks guard is looking to join the team.
Milwaukee Bucks Fans Would Love to See MarJon Beauchamp on the Portland Trailblazers

According to a report by NBA insider Landon Buford, one former Bucks player who is looking to join Lillard in Portland is former first round pick MarJon Beauchamp, whom Milwaukee traded away at the deadline last year for Kevin Porter Jr.
“A well-known NBA source who recently spoke with LandonBuford.com said that Portland is interested in bringing in the 23-year-old,” Buford wrote. “The Trail Blazers’ strategic rebuilding involves adding youth, athleticism, and defensive-minded talent, making it seem like a natural fit. Beauchamp’s skill set, which includes high-energy defense, slashing ability, and scoring potential, perfectly matches Portland’s development-focused roster.”
This is a move many Bucks fans would support, hoping that their former first round pick finally realizes his potential:

Beauchamp is also a native of Washington, which is not far from Portland. Signing with the Trailblazers would take him closer to home, too.
