The Milwaukee Bucks won their first game in a three-game road trip thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s simply unbelievable evening. In the City of Brotherly Love on Thursday, Antetokounmpo led the Bucks past the Philadelphia 76ers with a stat line of 35 points, 17 rebounds, and 20 assists. Inside the NBA’s Shaquille O’Neal and Candace Parker later reacted to the MVP-type performance from the Greek Freak.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes History With Ridiculous Triple-Double
As the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Philadelphia 76ers 126-113 on Thursday evening, Giannis Antetokounmpo had a magnificent evening, even by his lofty standards. Antetokounmpo had 36 points on 12-19 shooting, including converting 10 of his 11 free throws and burying his only three-point attempt. Additionally, he had 17 total rebounds and an even more eye-popping 20 assists, several of which were passes of the highest quality.

Antetokounmpo is now the first player in NBA history to achieve a 35, 15, and 20 stat line. He is just the 3rd player to ever have 30-15-20, and the 5th even to have 35 and 20 assists. While the MVP race this season appears to be a two-horse race between Denver’s Nikola Jokic and Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, there is still room for historic performances from Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP, to be celebrated.

Shaquille O’Neal and Candace Parker React to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s One-of-a-Kind Outing
Although the Bucks are in a funky spot due to missing Damian Lillard and having struggled as of late, Candace Parker reminded fans to appreciate the season that Antetokounmpo is having despite the Bucks’ record.
“We can’t measure Giannis’ success by the Bucks winning games, because he’s having a phenomenal season this year.”
Shaquille O’Neal has done his fair share of dominating the box score over his lifetime, but one thing he has not done is get close to 20 assists, a feat Antetokounmpo did for the first time on Thursday. His previous career high was 16 assists, which came against the San Antonio Spurs in 2023. O’Neal was impressed by several of Antetokounmpo’s highlight-reel passes, and complimented Antetokounmpo’s ability to make his teammates look good. O’Neal noted Taurean Prince being the beneficiary of several good passes that resulted in open jump shots.

Antetokounmpo was responsible for 85 total points when counting his assists. Prince and Kyle Kuzma each scored 10 points off of his passes, while six other players also scored after receiving the ball from Giannis.

He can do everything Jokic can do, but Jokic can’t do everything Giannis can do..

For the assist auditing crowd, Giannis’ teammates took 5 total dribbles out of 20 assists. 17 of 20 assists were immediate shots with 0 dribbles. Surgical stuff from Giannis. https://t.co/NCmMKx2ElF
