The Milwaukee Bucks made a statement win Wednesday night against an emerging San Antonio Spurs team. They won 121-105, which was huge for the Bucks after some down games.
MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 25 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists and an emphatic block.
The storyline before the game was the duel between Giannis and rising superstar Victor Wembanyama, and Giannis was the clear winner.
Lock Down
Wembanyama has been dominating almost every team he’s played against this season. He’s averaging an absurd 25.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 4.0 blocks a game.
For a second year player, this is one of the greatest seasons ever. He is supposed to be the next face of the league, and the matchup with Antetokounmpo was must-see tv.
Giannis has shown that he’s one of the best two-way players in the association, and he has a Defensive Player Of The Year award to prove so.
The challenge of guarding Wembanyama is an immense one for anyone, but not for Antetokounmpo last night.
Wembanyama only scored 10 points on 4-10 shooting, which was one of his worst performances of the 2024-25 season. He wasn’t as aggressive as he usually is versus other defenders around the league.

What’s Next For Milwaukee
The Bucks play the Orlando Magic tomorrow at 7pm EST. There is a chance that Magic All-Star Paolo Banchero returns versus Milwaukee, and Giannis will most likely have the assignment of guarding him.
A big part of Milwaukee’s success is Antetokounmpo being the anchor of their defense, and his showing versus Wembanyama displayed it at full force.
