Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks made easy work of the Toronto Raptors on the road Monday night. On the heels of a two-game losing skid, the Bucks capitalized on a golden opportunity against a lightweight and defeated the host team via a score of 128-104.
Antetokounmpo did not exactly have a huge performance, but he still came away with a triple-double of 11 points, 13 assists and 12 boards in just 29 minutes of action. Save for a bloody hand and seven turnovers, it was a relaxed outing for Antekounmpo who shot 5-for-8 from the field and finished with a plus-27.
For what it’s worthy, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player’s triple-double made for a quirky NBA feat.
Via Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press:
“I don’t know what we call this. Statigami, maybe? Giannis had 11 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists tonight. Nobody has ever done exactly 11-12-13 in a game before tonight.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks pummel Toronto Raptors in easy win
Antetokounmpo got plenty of help from his teammates, with Damian Lillard going off for 25 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the field, including 5-for-8 from behind the arc. Bobby Portis provided the spark off the bench, with the former Arkansas Razorbacks star big man powering Milwaukee’s second unit with 20 points, seven boards and three assists in just 23 minutes of action.
With the win over Toronto, the Bucks improved to 18-16 and regained some momentum, as they now prepare for a battle against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs at home this coming Wednesday.
