The stakes are high in the NBA Cup final, where the Milwaukee Bucks will face the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow. Winning the prestigious trophy is already quite an achievement, but the players are also after the huge $500,000+ cash prize.
But for Giannis Antetokounmpo, winning this year’s NBA Cup would mean so much more to him since doing so will add another remarkable milestone to his already-impressive resume, thus boosting his legacy and Hall of Fame odds.
“There’s got to be something within you that wakes you up every single day to go and put your body through the stress we put our bodies through, which for me is just creating more art,” Antetokounmpo stated via ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel. “Creating more moments that I can remember, creating more legacy. For myself, and for something my kids can look back to and say ‘damn, my dad was a bad motherf***er when he used to play.’”
Giannis Antetokounmpo is a huge reason for the Milwaukee Bucks’ turnaround, as he averages 32.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game on 61.4 percent shooting from the field in 23 games this season.
Milwaukee Bucks also need big games from Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton
Giannis Antetokounmpo will do his part to lead the Milwaukee Bucks, but he’ll need help from his co-stars to stand a chance against a stacked Oklahoma City Thunder squad.
Damian Lillard is averaging 25.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game this December. Meanwhile, Khris Middleton only averaged 7.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game on a woeful 25.9 percent shooting from the field in his first four appearances this year.
Milwaukee will also need huge performances from Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, Gary Trent Jr., and Taurean Prince tomorrow.
