Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will likely make it to his ninth career NBA All-Star game, as he continues to lead the 2025 voting in the Eastern Conference, and he wants his co-star to join him in the festivities at the Chase Center next month.
The two-time NBA MVP posted an Instagram story of a picture of himself dapping with Lillard, with the caption: “Everyone go vote my guy Damian Lillard for All-Star!!!!” and the link to where fans can cast their NBA All-Star votes.
Like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard is an eight-time NBA All-Star looking to get to his ninth this season. Despite his advancing age, the former Portland Trail Blazers man has earned recognition in his first two full seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks.
According to NBA.com, the 34-year-old guard is the third-highest vote-getter in the Eastern Conference backcourt, with 1,019,739 votes, trailing only Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell (1,181,310 votes) and Charlotte Hornets’ LaMelo Ball (1,490,227 votes).
Damian Lillard is balling for the Milwaukee Bucks this season
Damian Lillard deserves to be in this year’s NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco because he has been vital in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2024-25 campaign. The reigning NBA All-Star Game MVP is the team’s second-leading scorer at 24.8 points per contest.
He led the Milwaukee Bucks in scoring during their two-game winning streak, putting up 25 points against the Toronto Raptors on Monday and 26 points against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
Despite being on the team’s injury list, Damian Lillard is expected to assume his usual workload against the Orlando Magic later.
