The Milwaukee Bucks used to have Khris Middleton as the master of mid-range but they got Giannis Antetokounmpo for it now. This was not because K-Midd was traded and Antetokounmpo was forced to do it.

The Greek Freak has added this arsenal in his game long before that trade. He said before the start of last season that he is adding mid-range to his game to minimize the hit he’s getting as a player who plays down low most of the time.
“I’ve worked on [mindrangers],” Antetokounmpo told ESPN.
“Guys are giving it to me. I got to shoot it because it’s less toll on my body. I got to shoot it, man. It’s part of my game; I’ve worked on it all summer long. They are playoff shots in my opinion. And it is a shot that I believe I can make.”

It surely is paying off as he did not just increase his midrange shots but also his total percentage.
StatMuse said he shot 46.2 percent on mid-range shots last season, a massive improvement from his 34 percent the year before.
Giannis Antetokounmpo says he’s among the best in mid-range
The Greek Freak is not in the Top 10 midrange shooters published by NBA.com but in StatMuse, he is in Top 2 behind 2025 MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in made midrange shots.
SGA made 860 mid-range while Antetokounmpo had 793. Nikola Jokic, Anthony Edwards, and Cade Cunningham make up the Top 5.
Giannis only confirms that he is indeed among the most dangerous from that area in a video posted by Swish Culture.
“Me, DeRozan, KD, Devin Booker, and one other guy. I don’t know who’s the other guy,” he said when asked about midrange shooters.

He also discussed how his mid-range made him more dangerous.
“Once you add that element to your game, they are hard to be guarded,” he added.
“You gott back off me, even if I don’t make it. I made 46 or 47 percent. You still got to back off me because once I get to the rim, with defense, I still shoot 70 percent. With defense.”
