Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is in the midst of another MVP-caliber season, and at this point, it no longer surprises anyone.
The Greek Freak is third in the NBA MVP ladder, only behind Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic.
Antetokounmpo would surely want to win his third career MVP after last doing so in 2020. He led the Milwaukee Bucks to winning their first NBA Cup last month.
He is averaging 31.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.4 blocks on 60.5 percent shooting from the field in 35 starts. Antetokounmpo is the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week after leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a perfect 4-0 record last week.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo is better than Shaquille O’Neal, claims former two-time NBA champion
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been compared to Shaquille O’Neal because both players use brute force to rack up video game numbers. However, Rajon Rondo thinks the Greek Freak has the edge over the Big Diesel.
“He’s one of one. He’s his own person, his own identity as far as something we’ve never seen in our game before. I think he is more dominant in the paint than Shaq,” Rondo explained in the Run It Back podcast.
“Times are different and I don’t want to go at it with Shaq or anything, but I’m saying I think his percentages are greater, and I think he’s scored more points in the paint,” he added.
