Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks finally got back on track on Monday night, thanks to an easy 128-104 win over Eastern Conference lightweights Toronto Raptors. Toronto did not offer much resistance against the Bucks, though, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player hurt himself while trying to make a play on the defense end of the floor.
Apparently, ‘s hand was left bloodied after a chasedown block attempt. Following the game, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers provided an update on Antetokounmpo’s hand.
“He needed stitches,” Rivers told reporters (h/t Eric Nehm of The Athletic). “He didn’t wanna come out because he felt like he could finish, but it kept bleeding. It definitely was affecting him. You could see it really was hurting his ballhandling a little bit.”

Antetokounmpo played in only 29 minutes against the Raptors but he still came away with a triple-double of 11 points, 13 assists and 12 boards. It was not the eye-popping type of trip-dub but Antetokounmpo didn’t have to put up huge numbers to take down the lowly Raptors. Damian Lillard led the Bucks’ attack with 25 points while Bobby Portis came off the bench and fired 20 points.
So far in the 2024-25 NBA regular season, Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.6 points on 60.2 percent shooting from the field, 11.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists through 28 games.
The 18-16 Bucks will next take on the San Antonio Spurs in a home game this coming Wednesday.
