Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez claims that his superstar teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo is even more unguardable compared to when he first played with him around six years ago.
Lopez is not surprised Antetokounmpo is in the MVP talks again because of the latter’s work ethic. The Splash Mountain credited the Greek Freak for refining his midrange game this season.
“Ever year, he finds new ways to get better. The way he is playing from the midrange, that makes him even more unguardable. And he was even unguardable before that. It’s incredible,” Lopez said about Antetokounmpo via Mark Medina of Sportskeeda.
“He has the ultimate work ethic, better than anybody that I’ve ever seen. He’s always in the gym working on his craft,” he reiterated.
According to NBA.com, Antetokounmpo is shooting 45.1 percent from midrange this season, going 78-for-173 in his attempts, making him a more dangerous offensive player to deal with.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s stats during the Milwaukee Bucks-San Antonio Spurs match
The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a 144-118 loss against the San Antonio Spurs last night, but Giannis Antetokounmpo was one of the team’s brightest spots. The two-time league MVP notched 35 points, 19 rebounds, and six assists on 13-for-23 shooting from the field and 9-for-14 from the free throw line.
It was his 18th straight double-double, the third-longest streak in his NBA career. The Greek Freak is two games away from matching his longest run in 2020 (20 straight).
Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, and Taurean Prince were the other double-digit scorers for Milwaukee, notching 22, 21, and 13 points.
