Milwaukee Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo Already Revealed Future NBA Plans During Event 2 Days Ago

Another day, another hot take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rumor he is contemplating his future with the Milwaukee Bucks. It is a story that has been running for going on 10 years now, despite the fact that the nine-time NBA All-Star has, time and again, remained loyal to Milwaukee by signing extension after extension, and stating time after time that he loves the city and wants to spend his entire career with the Bucks.

The problem, of course, is that Milwaukee is the NBA’s smallest market and national reporters, such as ESPN‘s Shams Charania, would love to see Giannis leave and go play somewhere else.

The latest of these “reports” came this morning when, on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Charania said that nothing was “set in stone” regarding Giannis’ future in Milwaukee, and that several teams were “monitoring” the situation.

The problem with Charania’s reporting, of course, is that none of it is based in fact. While he may have sources that are telling him these things, none of those sources are coming from Giannis, and they certainly are not coming from the Bucks.

To Milwaukee’s fans, the whole situation reeks of desperation from the national media/other NBA teams who highly covet Giannis. The bad news, for those parties, is that the Greek Freak stated, once again, that he wants to spend his entire career with the Bucks.

Two days ago, during a sports memorabilia show, Giannis had the following exchange:

Giannis was at a sports collectibles convention on Saturday. Discussing how he had to shorten his autograph because he wanted to have a 15–20 year career. Then, someone shouts: “all in Milwaukee!”

“I want to have a long career. I’m gonna play like 15-20 years in the NBA,” Giannis said.

A fan yelled, “All in Milwaukee?”

And the Greek Freak responded, “All in Milwaukee, baby.”

It is unclear who Charania’s sources are that are feeding him these notions that NBA teams are “closely monitoring” whether Giannis will decide to leave Milwaukee. That being said, one would hope that, as a professional reporter, he would take the word of the player himself as truth, especially when it comes to his future.

But, as Bucks fans know, this likely will not happen. It has been 10 years, and the reports have not gone away, no matter what Giannis has said, no matter what he has signed, no matter the level of team success the Bucks have had.

And that is probably not going to change until he retires.

    With the Bucks.
