Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named as an All-Star captain for the second straight season, matching up with last year’s Western Conference captain LeBron James. Antetokounmpo will represent the Bucks along with Damian Lillard, who has also been named a starter for the 2024 All-Star game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Selected to 8th Straight All-Star Game with Milwaukee Bucks
Antetokounmpo has been the franchise player for Milwaukee for over half a decade and this will be his 8th straight appearance as an All-Star. He will be joining Tyrese Haliburton, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum and his teammate Damian Lillard in representing the Eastern Conference as starters.
For the Western Conference representatives, captain LeBron James will be joined by Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The reserves will be announced on February 1st at 7:00 PM Eastern time on TNT which will name another 12 players to the All-Star team.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists, which is one of the best statistical seasons he’s had since being drafted by the Bucks in 2013. His play this season made him the most voted player amongst the entire league when it comes to the selection by fans and the general public. He had over 5.4 million votes casted for him which is 300,000 more than the other captain LeBron James, who had just under 5.1 million votes.
All-Star Weekend Will Take Place in Indianapolis from February 16th-18th
Milwaukee will have a few more weeks of games on their schedule before Antetokounmpo and Lillard travel to Indianapolis for All-Star weekend festivities, which will take place between February 16th through the 18th.
