Unfortunately for the Milwaukee Bucks, they already took an L even before their Sunday night matchup against the Atlanta Hawks tipped off. This was after rapper Flavor Flav took the court to perform the National Anthem ahead of the contest.
At this point, it’s safe to say that the fans didn’t really love the 64-year-old’s version of The Star-Spangled Banner.
Flavor Flav Performs National Anthem
The singing of the national anthem before tipoff is always one of the highlights of the pregame show. Flavor Flav, aka William Jonathan Daryton Jr., took that honor at the Fiserv Forum on Sunday, and to be fair, the Public Enemy founding member did all he could to come out with his best version of America’s favorite song.
Unfortunately, the hip-hop icon just wasn’t able to deliver:

Milwaukee Bucks Trolled Hard on Twitter
Unsurprisingly, the mean streets of Twitter went all in not only on the rapper but on the Bucks organization as well for assigning such a tall task to Flavor Flav:

I've heard worse renditions of our National Anthem (i.e. Carl Lewis, Rosanne Arnold)… Flavor Flav's version was an extended play version, with a lot of careful thought and analysis by the rapper as he progressed through the song LOL… -DW @NBA #NBA @Bucks #basketball

True enough, the Bucks did lose their second game of the season via a 127-110 blowout. It was an ugly game from the get-go for Milwaukee, who just couldn’t match up with Trae Young and Co. on this particular occasion.
Damian Lillard fell back down to earth after his mind-blowing debut. The seven-time All-Star finished with just six points on 2-of-12 shooting, with four boards, five rebounds, and six turnovers.
Whether or not Flavor Flav and his rather questionable rendition of the anthem played a role in the loss, however, is anybody’s guess.
