Bobby Portis’ 2024-2025 season has been a very challenging one not because of basketball-related issue but because of the tragic news the Milwaukee Bucks big man is receiving month per month.

He could at least find a consolation on the latest update regarding the robbery case he dealt with November as authorities announced that they have filed federal charges against seven men that robbed his home that caused him around $1.5 million in losses.
The incident turned out to be a crime syndicate that targets America’s professional athletes. Other high profile victims are Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.

“It’s like you put all you can into the game and then you come home and just all your belongings are gone, things you worked hard for,” Portis said in November about the incident.
“It’s kind of gratifying that these guys have been caught. Obviously, because you work so hard for your things.”
Identity of suspects in Bobby Portis’ house burglary
This is a welcome development for Portis who this season faced three major adversities.
First was the burglary. The second one was the passing of his grandmother that made him miss the Bucks’ six games between January and February.
The latest is the 25-game suspension without pay for his honest mistake of taking a banned substance for his elbow injury.

The identity of the thieves who attacked his home has been identified.
“The men are accused of comprising a Chilean South American theft group and stealing nearly $3 million in property from six athletes, including Portis, according to a court document made publicly available on Tuesday,” the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
If convicted, these people will spend 10 years in prison.
