The Milwaukee Bucks have missed the services of Bobby Portis, as the 29-year-old forward has been out for three consecutive games due to personal reasons.
Doc Rivers admits he has no idea when Portis will return to the lineup, and the head coach insists that the Milwaukee Bucks will do their best to play the games without him.
“I don’t know. We’re going to let him take his time. There’s probably a thought he may miss the trip, but with family matters, man, you just let people deal with their family,” Rivers said about Portis via The Athletic’s Eric Nehm.
Milwaukee have lost two of their last three games without Portis, including their 125-112 result against the Portland Trail Blazers last night.
Milwaukee Bucks miss Bobby Portis and AJ Green
The Milwaukee Bucks have been without Bobby Portis (personal) and AJ Green (quad) for a while, and their absences played a huge role in yesterday’s loss against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Milwaukee had no third big behind Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez, while AJ Green would’ve provided additional bench depth and spacing.
Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel pointed out that the Milwaukee Bucks were outrebounded 52-36, and the Portland Trail Blazers scored 17 points on 17 offensive rebounds. Milwaukee also shot just 31 percent from behind the three-point arc.
