At one point this NBA season, the Milwaukee Bucks were 2-8 and many people were calling for them to start all over. Instead, there is a chance that they are not going to start all over, but trades could still be made ahead of the 2025 NBA trade deadline.
The Milwaukee Bucks may not be a championship team this NBA season, but they will need to make moves that will benefit them in the future. General manager Jon Horst will have some interesting decisions to make with the roster before the 2025 NBA trade deadline.
Sportingnews.com Writer Donny Shea Thinks That the Milwaukee Bucks Could Reunite With Detroit Pistons Guard Malik Beasley At the NBA Trade Deadline
During the NBA offseason, the Bucks decided not to re-sign Malik Beasley and let him walk. Beasley is currently on the Detroit Pistons and there is a chance that teams will be calling about him ahead of the 2025 NBA trade deadline.
Donny Shea of sportingnews.com created a mock trade that would send Malik Beasley back to the Milwaukee Bucks and the Detroit Pistons would acquire Pat Connaughton and a 2031-second round pick. At some point, the Bucks will need to acquire some draft capital back. Shea said about this potential trade:
“Beasley’s market could be greater than anticipated, which may lead him to be dealt for more than one second-round pick. This would price the Bucks out of acquiring the sharpshooter due to their lack of expendable future draft capital. The second-round pick that is included is their only second-round pick through the 2031 draft. Detroit could use the second-rounder to consolidate with other picks in a more significant future trade to help fill out their roster around star Cade Cunningham.
Meanwhile, Connaughton is solely included for salary-matching purposes.
A Bucks reunion with Beasley after losing the shooter in free agency this past offseason would heavily bolster coach Doc Rivers’ rotation. After his lone campaign with Milwaukee a season ago, the now 28-year old veteran is averaging 16.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in Detroit. The 6-foot-4 guard has played 28.2 minutes per game in 32 games this season.
Beasley provides valuable floor-spacing and would thrive alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Beasley is shooting an eye-opening 41.8 percent from three on an insane 9.3 threes per game as a Piston. Additionally, Beasley is tied with Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards for the league-lead in made three-pointers.”
Malik Beasley heading back to the Milwaukee Bucks would be very interesting. Beasley is 28 years old and he has played well this season for the Detroit Pistons. The only thing is would they want to trade for him with AJ Green starting more often?
Potential Sellers
There is no doubt that the Milwaukee Bucks will want to trade away Pat Connaughton, but it will not be worth it for them to acquire Malik Beasley. There is a chance that the Bucks would rather trade away players at the trade deadline and acquire draft capital and young players.
If the Bucks wanted Beasley around, they would have re-signed him this offseason. It would be awkward if the Bucks brought him back in a trade this season.
