After winning the NBA Cup trophy last Tuesday, it’s back to regular season matters for the Milwaukee Bucks. They’re up for a huge test tomorrow, as they’ll take on the Cleveland Cavaliers, who boast the best record in the Eastern Conference, on the road.
The Milwaukee Bucks improved to a 14-11 record because they’ve had a healthier squad compared to the start of the season. The Cleveland Cavaliers can’t say the same because they will be without one of their top defensive players.
Isaac Okoro sustained a shoulder injury during the second half of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ victory against the Brooklyn Nets last Monday. According to Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal, the former no. 5 pick will be re-evaluated in two weeks due to a right shoulder AC joint sprain.
Okoro played well in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ first meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks last November 2nd, tallying 13 points, eight rebounds, and three three-pointers while shooting 4-for-5 from the field in 28 minutes of action.
Donovan Mitchell speaks about Isaac Okoro ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks matchup
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell said his teammates must step up on both ends of the floor to fill in for the injured Isaac Okoro since they will miss him against the Milwaukee Bucks.
“With Isaac being out, we have to continue to take our physicality to another level,” Mitchell said via Ethan Sands of Cleveland.com. “And then you’re also missing the second-best 3-point shooter in the league. I say that, like, jokingly, but not jokingly. I’m also dead serious. He’s a guy that (has been) knocking down shots and teams want to leave him. You obviously miss him on the defensive end, but offensively, he’s been playing phenomenally for us.”
Isaac Okoro has played 23 games this season, averaging 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on 49.5 percent shooting from the field and 49.2 percent from three-point land.
