The Milwaukee Bucks are 13-11 on the season, which is a remarkable feat considering they started the year 2-8 and, at one point, had suffered through a six-game losing streak. During their early low-point, only superstars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo seemed to be playing well, and even they were still working on finding the best way to play together.
Fortunately for Milwaukee, the Bucks were able to turn it around. Giannis and Dame have become one of the most dominant duos in the NBA and the roll players on their roster started to hit their shots with more consistency.
One player who has improved offensively since the start of the season is center Brook Lopez, who is currently averaging 11.0 points while shooting 47/36/71 from the floor.
However, it is his defense, once again, that is having the biggest impact on the team.
Milwaukee Bucks Center Brook Lopez Could Do Something Never Accomplished Since Hakeem Olajuwon
Lopez, who is in his seventh season with the Bucks, is currently averaging a career-high 1.1 steals per game. He is also averaging 2.1 blocks per game, which ranks third in the NBA.
What is amazing about these particular averages is that Lopez is 36 years old.
In the history of the NBA, only one player has ever averaged at least 1.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game in a single season at such an age: Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon.

“The Dream” averaged 1.6 steals and 2.5 blocks per game in his age 36 season as well (1998-99). It was actually 15th consecutive season in which Olajuwon put up both of those averages (it was also his last).
Prior to this season, the most steals per game Lopez averaged in a single season was 0.8, which he did in 2015-16 with the Brooklyn Nets.
