Khris Middleton, when healthy, has always been there for the Milwaukee Bucks whenever any of the team’s top two stars are out.
He showed that during last year’s playoffs when Damian Lillard was suddenly out for the series against the Indiana Pacers.
He won’t be there for them anymore this April as he was traded to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma.
He is supposed to be the third player in the team’s Big 3 together with Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Here’s something that will make Bucks, or anyone, feel sorry about Middleton – he, Dame, and Giannis never got to play together in playoff series.
It is a shame because in their limited time together, they appear to be one of the scariest Big 3 in the league.
Khris Middleton carried Milwaukee Bucks in his shoulders
Last year against the Pacers would have been their first rodeo. However, injury bugged them and they never got to set foot on the floor and put into table whatever they worked on together during the pre-season.
They lost the series in six games.
Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play a single game after he suffered a calf injury on April 9 against the Boston Celtics and was declared out for the rest of the regular season. There was hope he will return during the postseason but it never happened.
As for Dame, he only played four out of the six games after he was forced to sit out the fourth and fifth game of the series due to an Achilles injury.
As for Middleton, he carried everyone. He played all six games and averaged an almost double double of 24.7 points and 9.2 rebounds.
It would be easy to say that he was a warrior who did his job and stepped up big time when his stars were not around.
