For weeks, the Milwaukee Bucks have been rumored to be looking into the trade market for players that will help them improve their roster and win an NBA Championship. However, due to their immense salary cap and status as a second apron team in the luxury tax, there is very little they can do.
In order to get under the second apron, they need to shed salary, which they have apparently been trying to do. According to reports, they have been shopping Pat Connaughton for months in an effort to do just this.
A recent NBA trade rumor had them doing it, along with sending away a few other players in exchange for a guard that no team seems to want.
The Milwaukee Bucks Were Rumored to Be Looking to Trade Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis for Bradley Beal
According to multiple rumors, Milwaukee was looking to jump into a four-team trade that would have sent Khris Middleton to the Miami Heat while Bobby Portis and Connaughton would go to the Toronto Raptors.
In return, the Bucks would acquire Bradley Beal from the Phoenix Suns, who would get Jimmy Butler from Miami.
While many fans have been calling on the team to trade Middleton, not many of them were willing to support a deal that would have brought Beal in return.
Like Middleton, Beal is injury prone. A major difference, though, is that he is under contract for three more seasons, each of which will cost whatever team he is playing for more than $50 million.
NBA Insider Reveals the Milwaukee Bucks Never Inquired About Bradley Beal
Much to the relief of Bucks fans, NBA insider Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report announced in a recent video/social media post that there is absolutely no connection between Milwaukee and Beal.

“Contrary to popular belief, I was just informed that the Milwaukee Bucks have not inquired about Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal. In fact, it was explained to me that a connection between the two is non-existent.
“So if Phoenix is able to acquire Jimmy Butler, it would not come via the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the star guard.”
Of course, this does not mean that Milwaukee is not actively working the phones to find a way to get rid of Connaughton. However, it does pretty much solidify what many already believed to be true: Middleton is not on the market.
