The Milwaukee Bucks are being written off for the 2025-26 season with two months to go before the opening day and the latest to join the hot take fray is Marc Spears of ESPN senior NB writer Marc Spears who does not think Giannis Antetokounmpo is surrounded with talent.

When asked if the Bucks can win the championship, he answered with a straight face that they don’t have what it takes.
“This team is not good enough,” he said during appearance at the NBA Today show.
“They don’t have the point guard needed to get to that championship level.”

The Bucks waived Damian Lillard and will probably use Kevin Porter Jr. as their main point guard.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks’ championship window
Doc Rivers and Jon Horst feel positive about their next campaign with the former saying that the league is still wide open.
Other analysts believe the Bucks might be able to pull through in the East given how weak it is right now with injuries to a number of superstar. Spears does not think it matters or affects Bucks’ odds because they are just not talented enough.
“I just, even with the East kind of being depleted from an injury standpoint, just overall talent, no.”
Spears summed up his take that the Bucks are a second round team at best although his co-hosts think Antetokounmpo being with the team might still surprise everyone.

He also thinks that the period where the Bucks can still compete with Antetokounmpo with them is already closing.
Bucks already won a title with Antetokounmpo as their best player and they are hoping to do it again. His future with the team, however, is being intrigued with some saying he is already thinking of moving on with another team that can better give him the the support he needs.
