Kevin Porter Jr.’s professional basketball career has gone full circle as he gets moved to the team that selected him in 2019 – the Milwaukee Bucks.

The 24-year-old point guard was acquired by the Bucks in exchange for another young player Marjon Beauchamp.
There were some comments from 2020 that the Bucks wasted a picks since the selection was for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He was a reliable back up point guard for James Harden with the Clippers but that is not enough for some Bucks fans to view him as a good addition.
It mostly has to do with his off-court issues.
In 2023, he was arrested in New York for domestic assault on his then girlfriend and WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick.

His current team then, the Houston Rockets, decided he will be away from the team indefinitely due to the issue. It was last year when he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of reckless assault and a second-degree harassment violation.
That’s the police not the NBA.
Kevin Porter Jr. risks missing games for Milwaukee Bucks
Clippers signed Porter Jr. during the offseason knowing full well the baggage that comes with his signature.
In an interview with Law Murray of the Athletic back in July last year, LA Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank said they signed him after intense evaluation with consultation with specialists.
These specialists said KPJ remains deserving of an opportunity, something that other teams who tried to sign him see, too.

He’s had an offseason personal-development plan that he’s been committed to. And then, based on our specialist recommendation, he’ll have an offseason and off-the-court personal-development plan that he’ll be held accountable to. With that being said … we thought, hey, look, positive change is possible, and here’s an opportunity for him.
The domestic assault case is not yet behind him. The NBA is still investigating.
Clippers know it and they accepted the possibility that he could get disciplinary action once the investigation concludes.
This is what the Bucks are risking.
Good thing for them, Ryan Rollins’ stock continue to rise.
