Milwaukee Bucks: Insider Has 1 Theory Why Giannis Antetokounmpo Won’t Leave Team Despite Big Market Suitors

Giannis Antetokounmpo declared recently that he wants to become a Milwaukee Bucks for life. His long-time teammate Bobby Portis said that he bleeds green.

These declarations, including statements from his team and clues from his recent activities, are still not enough for some supposed NBA insiders. The most notorious of all is Shams Charania who would not let go his empty reports about how Giannis feels about the organization that drafted him in 2013 and with whom he won everything there is to win.

Another NBA insider is trying to give it a rest. He does not think, for now, that Antetokounmpo will leave the team because of the player’s disposition.

He thinks the Greek Freak will be freaked out by the possible backlash in case he choose to play for another team.

“In my opinion (no reporting here), the biggest thing holding hope for Giannis staying in Milwaukee is that I don’t fully believe he’s willing to embrace the potential PR hit of bailing,” Zach Harper of The Athletic wrote.

“I don’t even necessarily think this is a marketing thing or about selling shoes or avoiding his jersey being burned on social media for clout (if people are still doing that).”

    Giannis Antetokounmpo loves Milwaukee

Harper is probably overreaching with his take that Antetokounmpo gives a damn about what people say. He, however, believes that the player really loves the city.

The issue though is that Antetokoummpo is also not the type to get contented. Harper said getting out of the team is still on the table.

“I think Giannis likes being universally liked and genuinely loves being in Milwaukee, and that’s a tough pill to risk swallowing in many facets. But his competitive drive might eventually override that if they can’t get him any closer to another title than the first round.”

Right now, one can say that the Bucks are still going all in for him. However, the next years will be hard for them. Signing quality players will be a lot of hardwork because of salary cap limitations and lack of assets.
