The Milwaukee Brewers entered Tuesday’s game against the Kansas City Royals on a three game losing streak. They managed to avoid losing four consecutive games for the first time this season in large part due to a clutch go-ahead three run home run from Willy Adames. That scoring play ended up being the difference in a 6-5 come from behind Brewers victory.
Setting the table for Willy Adames’ clutch go-ahead home run in the ninth inning.

With a 5-3 lead entering the top of the ninth inning the Kansas City Royals turned to closer James McArthur for a single inning save opportunity. McArthur managed to get the first two batters out on just eight pitches, but from there Milwaukee flipped the script. William Contreras doubled on the eighth pitch of a full count, Gary Sanchez walked on five pitches, and then Willy Adames homered on the second pitch.

After starting down in the count 0-1 on a questionable strike call Willy Adames managed to keep his composure and launched the second pitch of his at-bat against McArthur for a go-ahead home run. This dagger from Adames marked the third blown save for McArthur this season.
