The Milwaukee Brewers are going to be without their closer as Trevor Megill has been placed on the injured list with a flexor strain. Megill is currently in the middle of a career year, evidenced by an All-Star nomination, 30 saves, and 2.54 ERA over 46.0 innings.

Trevor Megill is out with a flexor strain
Milwaukee’s announcement that Trevor Megill has landed on the injured list with a flexor strain comes on the heels of a heavy weekend workload, where he threw 51 pitches against the San Francisco Giants and failed to convert both save opportunities. In fact, Megill has now blown three of his last four save chances, with the other coming earlier this month in extra innings against the Reds.
Erick Fedde is joining the Milwaukee Brewers
Amid the Megill news, it’s easy to overlook the Brewers’ signing of Erick Fedde. After a strong return from overseas in 2023, posting a 3.30 ERA over 31 starts with the White Sox and Cardinals, Fedde hasn’t been able to replicate that form this season. He struggled to a 5.76 ERA, was traded to the Braves, and was recently released by Atlanta before landing in Milwaukee.
