The Milwaukee Brewers recently finished a three game series against the Colorado Rockies in which they lost all three games at Coors Field. On paper this was not the expected outcome, but the Rockies managed to outscore the Brew Crew 19-9 while also utilizing tremendous defense to keep their opponent’s offense at bay.
Unfortunately for Milwaukee, they were in position to win two of these games. They lost game one by a score of 3-2 in which Peter Strzelecki gave up the eventual game winning run during the bottom of the eighth inning. In the series finale the Brewers blew a four run lead in the seventh inning and then gave up five runs an inning later. The final score of that game was 9-6.
Overall, it was not a good three games for the Brewers. Upon conclusion of the series Milwaukee Brewers veteran pitcher Wade Miley had an honest assessment of how the team performed after getting swept in Colorado.
Wade Miley has an honest assessment of how the Milwaukee Brewers performed against the Colorado Rockies.
During a post game interview, Wade Miley said, “Ready to get out of here. Came in and got our butts whipped. Try to move on from it and get back to work tomorrow.” This statement is the honest truth for how the Brewers played in Colorado. At times the offensive at-bats looked uninspiring, the pitching staff was shaky, and fundamentally they struggled.
Thankfully it’s a long baseball season and as Wade Miley said the team will be looking to move on from this and play another game tomorrow. Their next series will be against the San Francisco Giants and will be the last three games of the road trip.
