During his 11th Milwaukee Brewers appearance, Shelby Miller was unable to complete the eighth inning of a tightly contested game against the Philadelphia Phillies. With nobody out, Miller threw to home plate, looked uncomfortable, put his hands on his knees, and was removed from the game due injury. Miller later reported that he “felt something pop” in his elbow.

Shelby Miller was recovering from a flexor tendon strain at the time he was acquired by the Milwaukee Brewers

Miller was acquired by the Brewers from the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 31. On August 5, Milwaukee sent him on a rehab assignment as he was on the tail of recovery from a flexor tendon strain in his elbow at the time of the trade. He was activated on August 8 and now the remainder of his 2025 and potentially 2026 season may be in jeopardy.
Assuming the worst, 2025 was a great season for Miller. The 34 year old has a 2.74 ERA on the season, in which he owned a 1.98 ERA prior to being traded to Milwaukee.
