As the Milwaukee Brewers inch closer and closer to Opening Day against the New York Yankees, transactions and re-assignments get announced. Recently the team announced the names of seven players who were involved in the latest round of spring training big league roster trims. Of those players, one is a top prospect.
Seven Milwaukee Brewers players involved in latest round of roster trimming

Per the Brewers, the following players have been re-assigned to minor league camp.
- RHP Deivi Garcia
- RHP Easton McGee
- RHP Jacob Misiorowski
- RHP Vinny Nittoli
- INF Raynel Delgado
- C Darrien Miller
Additionally, one player was optioned to Triple-A.
- OF Brewer Hicklen
Jacob Misiorowski is the organization’s fourth ranked prospect

Per MLB Pipeline’s prospect rankings, Misiorowski is the Brewers fourth ranked prospect. The flame throwing right hander made it to Triple-A last year and was rumored to be a potential late season call up candidate then. It appears as if he won’t be added to the 40-man roster to begin the year, but should make his MLB debut at some point in 2025.
Why are the Brewers making Jacob Misiorowski wait?
With a triple digit fastball, devastating off-speed pitches, and improved command from a few seasons ago, Misiorowski certainly has the stuff to start the year in the big leagues and have success. However, Milwaukee has such a deep pitching staff that they may just be willing to give opportunities to guys already on the 40-man first.
Success with pitchers can vary from year to year, so if anyone falters Misiorowski may be one of the first players that the Brewers turn to in the minor leagues. The other player who would be in contention with him is Craig Yoho, who similarly probably won’t crack the 40-man roster this spring due to Milwaukee’s depth.
